Health Policy Committee
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Conduct committee meetings at least four times per year as determined by the chair and committee at the first meeting of the current year.
- Study trends in the health care environment that may initiate legislative or governmental response.
- Monitor pending legislative and governmental affairs and activities that will influence health care and nursing practice on a local, state, or national level.
- Generate a Healthcare Policy Agenda and submit to board for approval;
e.g. legislative initiatives, lobby efforts, white paper and position
statements.
- In year when state legislature is in session, in corporation with contract
lobbyist prepare Legislative Update column for presentation in
ARKANSAS NURSE TODAY; prepare committee report for all issues of
ARKANSAS NURSE TODAY.
- Submit written reports to board of directors as requested by CEO.
- A member of the committee will serve as liaison to the ANPAC, as so determined by the chair.
- Minutes of all meetings are e-mailed to committee members, president,
and lobbyist.
